Job Description: Works closely with CTO to achieve the company's technical strategy. The candidate is responsible for all of the company’s product development activities and her/his job is to make everyone in the engineering organization successful. She/He will be expected to fix the issues that are getting in the way of success on a day-to-day basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Identify, evaluate and propose appropriate technology platforms, tools and software development methodologies necessary to achieve business goals
2. Develop systems architecture/designs and transform product roadmaps and development initiatives into formal project plans with clear delivery timelines and to budget/resources available
3. Establish and supervise the software development process, setting short-term objectives and assessing progress as defined by the selected software development methodology
4. Actively Develop code modules and Implement Algorithms using LAMP and OOP methods
5. Supervise recruitment, training, retention, assessment and management of all technical staff in accordance with the company needs and budget requirements
6. Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration and system testing and conduct code reviews as defined by the selected software development methodology
7. Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process
8. Establish an application deployment process and supervise deployment to staging and production servers.
9. Ensure system availability/scalability and monitor system performance reviewing and responding to any application failures in staging or production.
10. Ensure that the product is fully and correctly defined and documented
Required Qualifications/Experience:
1. The candidate is expected to hold a computer science degree from a reputable university
2. 6+ years of overall experience with at least 2 years in a similar role
3. Proficiency with PHP and LAMP technologies (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP)
4. good working knowledge of Agile software methodology.
